Performers and Costumes: 1920s to Present” Exhibition

One of the items that adorns performers on stage and television and in movies is their costume.

For performers, costumes serve to bring out their personal appeal, amplify laughter and create their character.

This exhibition focuses attention on performers’ costumes, which have changed with the times, with the display of costumes from the 1920s to the 2010s. Furthermore, visitors can enjoy commentaries on the fashion in each period and performers’ costumes by Ms. Sayumi Gunji (fashion creative director, Editorial Director of Numéro TOKYO) and Mr. Nobuyuki Nakatani (magazine writer, editor), respectively.
